By far the most useful develop presets settings in Lightroom for my workflow has to be setting my ‘luminance’ value to 65 and my sharpening value to 75. I also select enable profile corrections and select remove ‘chromatic aberration’. My exposure value is set to +0.20, contrast set to +15, colour temperature set to 5000, clarity set to +20 and vibrance set to +20. These settings work perfectly with my Canon 5 D Mark 2, if I was shooting with the Canon 5 D Mark 3 then I would certainly reduce the luminance setting as the ISO is considerably better in low light with the Mark 3. I keep waiting for Canon to upgrade the Mark 3 before I upgrade my Mark 2, but who knows how long that will be!
All these presets cover most of my assignment photography especially corporate events and also corporate portraits when working inside. I do make small changes to these settings such as colour temperature and exposure but generally this is a good guideline for my workflow in post production.
Recently I have updated my commercial photography gallery, a recent shoot I did for a commercial client that specialises in lifting and rigging equipment.
