It was great to have the opportunity to photograph the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during the Royal visit to Taronga Zoo. There are certain events that I always cover so that I can add them to my editorial stock archive. In terms of selected photo calls where everyone is allocated a fixed position at each engagement, I think this was one of the best in Sydney. However had the photo opportunity been 30 minutes or so earlier the lighting would have been totally different. There would have been harsh shadows and lens flare- which produces a haze and considerable loss of image quality. In comparison the light was soft enough not to cause harsh shadows when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were seated watching the bird display and when greeting the Koala just the right amount of highlights.
