On a recent trip to the Megalong Valley, I could not resist stopping the car to capture this photo of\u00a0 horses grazing next to the Dryridge Estate Winery.<\/p>\n

Shooting into the light was not ideal, but there are certain moments that create a spontaneous reaction where\u00a0 you know a particular scene just has to be captured.<\/p>\n

The late afternoon sun created contrasting textures and tones <\/a>which were further enhanced in Lightroom.<\/p>\n

By decreasing vibrance in Lightroom helped give this photo a more moody effect.<\/p>\n

Vibrance is more subtle in Lightroom than saturation.<\/p>\n

It only affects the saturation of colours that fall into the mid-tone range.<\/p>\n

Slight adjustments were also made to the tone curve and clarity was added to increase contrast in the mid-tones.<\/p>\n
