Martin Place around 11am presented a great contrast of light and shadow on buildings &#8211; especially the former MLC Building. I was pleased with the result of the shadows at the front of the former MLC Building and the contrast with the modern office building behind.<\/p>\n<p>This superb Art Deco building now occupied by commercial offices- was constructed during the second half of the 1930&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Another great opportunity caught my eye as I worked my way from one end of Martin Place to the other \u00a0while looking for photo opportunities. I noticed a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.paullovelace.photography\/#!\/index\/G0000YuNTOv9OhCk\/I0000a9Ysd8OaQcg\">woman walking down<\/a> some steps with an orange hand bag and the colour matched the orange Martin Place sign above her. This to me is where street photography plays such a vital role in context with the architecture and spaces around it. I study and admire the work of two photographers &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/Jay Maisel\">Jay Maisel <\/a>and<a href=\"http:\/\/martin parr\"> Martin Parr<\/a> &#8211; both of whom see beyond composition and exposure when taking a photograph.<\/p>\n<p>This helps us to learn more about the opportunities life presents to us and how as a photographer one interprets it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/paullovelace.photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Martin-Place-Sydney-9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-585\" src=\"https:\/\/paullovelace.photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Martin-Place-Sydney-9.jpg\" alt=\"Stock Images of Martin Place, Sydney, Australia, 19 Jan 2016\" width=\"3840\" height=\"5760\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/paullovelace.photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Martin-Place-Sydney-191.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-586\" src=\"https:\/\/paullovelace.photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Martin-Place-Sydney-191.jpg\" alt=\"Stock Images of Martin Place, Sydney, Australia, 19 Jan 2016\" width=\"5760\" height=\"3840\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A corporate client was in need of some general stock shots of Martin Place\u00a0Sydney, for their website and had not found anything suitable online.
