It is ironic that I would want to keep the shadow detail and use Aurora HDR, but if you don’t experiment with these things you never really know.
Originally I processed this photo of Rushcutters Bay on Sydney Harbour in Lightroom. I was happy with the results as I certainly had complete control over the shadow detail. I then decided to try out and go through the presets in Aurora HDR . All of these did not give me the results I was looking for accept for “Trey Ratcliff’s” Chocolate and Wine Preset. Love the name, certainly both at the top of my list. So happy with the results with plenty of rich contrast and great shadow detail which I was not getting with all the other presets in Aurora HDR. Also the foreground area was much richer in texture detail than if I had simply processed this photo in Lightroom.
