On a recent trip to the Megalong Valley, I could not resist stopping the car to capture this photo of horses grazing next to the Dryridge Estate Winery.
Shooting into the light was not ideal, but there are certain moments that create a spontaneous reaction where you know a particular scene just has to be captured.
The late afternoon sun created contrasting textures and tones which were further enhanced in Lightroom.
By decreasing vibrance in Lightroom helped give this photo a more moody effect.
Vibrance is more subtle in Lightroom than saturation.
It only affects the saturation of colours that fall into the mid-tone range.
Slight adjustments were also made to the tone curve and clarity was added to increase contrast in the mid-tones.
