Woollahra Library or should I say Green Library is very unusual in that it is surrounded by greenery.
The entrance has a vertical garden wall where books can be returned.
It opened in 2016 and this space is built around timber trim and white birch ply walls
The Aspen timber-slatted ceiling allows plenty of natural light to fill the spaces below and gave great opportunity for interior photos.
The Library’s main staircase is surrounded by hanging greenery from the ceiling, and is also used as a seating area for film screenings.
My first impressions when I walked into this Green Library space fit-out was that it could be described as a hanging garden and well worth a visit.
