It was good to be able to help out the University of Southern California last week for their USC News website. The visuals editor wanted to use one of my portraits I did of artist Edgar Arceneaux working on Drawings of Removal 1999-Present. It was taken at the launch of the new Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney about 3 years ago. The USC School of Art and Design recently announced that Los Angeles artist Edgar Arceneaux has been appointed as visiting professor of fine arts. I can remember watching Edgar at work and I wanted to capture him in a moment of thought and reflection as he was installing his work. There was very little natural light available so I used my speedlight on manual bounce flash, and was pleased with the results. The USC News website has great content ranging from Arts, Business, Health, Humanities and Science/Technology.
